Sitaramaya Sita

Sita is a PlantWisdom Practitioner trained in the Shipibo tradition.  She shepherds a powerful community in Los Angeles and globally, of healers, seekers, visionaries and creators. She works with individuals and groups, in ceremony, events, lectures and tours to bridge the chaos of modern life and the wisdom of the indigenous spiritual practice.

Sita’s innate love of adventure has led her on an inner journey into non-ordinary states of consciousness facilitated largely by the richness of the plant kingdom. The resulting insight into what exists outside of consensus reality informs her teaching in a world with an unconscious emphasis on accumulation of the material.

It was overcoming her own personal challenges with addiction early in life that prepared Sita so uniquely for her commitment to the plant medicine path that requires dietary restrictions and other disciplines of body and mind. It paved the way for an understanding of how our lives are always perfectly unfolding for our greatest learning, a grace that she passes onto her students as they undertake more and more of her unique guidance.

Over the last 20 years, Sita has founded several organizations and events including PlantTeachers, Conscious Path Creation and Quantum Path Creation. She conducts innovative healing journeys around the world and is the organizer and founder of the Convergence conferences. Sita’s commitment to deep ecology has led to the development of “Fundo Sitaramaya,” a preservation project of privately-held Amazonian land to steward and protect old growth trees, waterways and rainforest flora and fauna.

Sitaramaya is a stand for “Deep Ecology:” ecology that is more than recycling and preserving our natural resources and is the ecology of the interrelatedness, intelligence and equality of all creation in the ecosphere.

In 2009, Sita curated the first major show of Pablo Amaringo’s art in Venice, California. More recently Sita has appeared as guest speaker at various in Los Angeles events including the Ayahuasca monologues and the Aya Awakenings film premiere. She also presented at the World Ayahuasca Conference in Ibiza, Spain in September 2014.

Sita is also the director of a project assisting and protecting the constitutional liberties of people on death row.
